Join other bird lovers listening and looking for owls on the grounds of Sylvester Manor with Tom Damiani. The Owl Prowl takes place on Friday, October 7 at 6 PM.
It features a short slideshow focusing on the owls typically found around Shelter Island followed by a trip into the fields to call for owls.
“We will hopefully get some to call back and maybe even see a few,” Sylvester Manor says.
There is no fee to participate, but a $10 donation is suggested. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring a flashlight (to use only when necessary).
Enter Sylvester Manor at the main gate and bear right at the first fork, and then left at the Old Farmhouse. Follow the road past the barns to the public parking area in front of the restrooms. The meetup is at the Old Farmhouse.
RSVP to Sylvester Manor Operations Director Tracy McCarthy at tmccarthy@sylvestermanor.org.
