Stop by Sylvester Manor Farmstand for a scarecrow workshop to help raise money for the Shelter Island Fall 5K and its breast health beneficiaries.

On Sunday, October 9, from 1 to 2 PM, Little Spoon Floral and Garden Design will help contestants build a scarecrow to enter into its Scare Away Cancer contest. Judging takes place on October 15, the day of the Shelter Island Fall 5K.
Get creative and bring your own design ideas and supplies or choose from the provided goodie pile of items to make your best scarecrow.
Can’t make it to the Manor? You can still join the Scare Away Cancer contest by signing up to receive a hay bale delivered to your doorstep to make your own scarecrow and display it on your lawn.
Either way, the cost is $30 per person; use this link to register. Proceeds support the Shelter Island Fall 5K and its beneficiaries fighting cancer and treating patients on the East End.
On Race Day, Little Spoon judges will check out all the entries and award prizes. The first-place winner receives fall plants to dress up their scarecrow, along with spring bulbs provided by Little Spoon Floral and Garden Design.
