PTSA plans Halloween ‘Trunk or Treat’

The PTSA of Shelter Island has something special in store for little ghouls and goblins — a Halloween “Trunk or Treat” candy giveaway in the school parking lot.

“Do you love Halloween?” the group asks in a flyer for the event. “Do you wish Trick-or-Treaters would come to your house, but they never do? Then join us for this event.”

It’s a new addition to the Island’s traditional Halloween celebration, including a parade through the Town Center and trick or treating along Smith Street.

Participants will create a Halloween spirited display for the trunk of their vehicles, load up on treats, and then park in the school lot. As kids pass along School Street on their way to Smith Street, they can check out the spooky displays and trick or treat from car to car.

Use this link to reserve a spot in the school parking lot, give your vehicle a creepy makeover, and join the fun from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday, October 31, at the Shelter Island School.

If you’d like to contribute candy to the Witches of Smith Street, who host the annual trick or treating, drop off your donation at the school’s main lobby by October 25.
