Local options for your Thanksgiving feast

The holiday is still weeks away, but if you want to enjoy some of the local options for your Thanksgiving feast you should place your orders soon. These eateries and other organizations that are members of our Island Directory have lots to offer to help make your Thanksgiving special. And we’ll be adding more to this post as the holiday approaches.

Marie Eiffel Market

Do you love making the turkey but not the sides? Marie Eiffel Market has uncooked, fresh turkeys in four sizes (8-12 lbs, 12-16, 16-20, or 20-24) at $5.49/pound by advance order only. “Our turkeys are raised on a small Amish farm in Pennsylvania, fed a vegetarian diet and are anti-biotic- and hormone-free,” Marie says. The market offers vegan sides like cranberry sauce, and carrot/ginger or creamy wild mushroom soup. Stuffing features challah with Italian sausage and cranberries. Don’t forget Marie’s famous gravy or one of her cheese platters.

Call or text your order to 212-945-8492. Holiday hours: Monday, 11/23 (and Friday to Sunday), 7 AM to 5 PM; Tuesday, closed; Wednesday, 11/25, 8:30 AM to 3 PM; Thursday, 11/26, 8:30 to 11:30 AM. Find more at marieeiffelmarket.com.

Vine Street Café and VSC Market

Treat yourself with a reservation to a socially-distanced meal at Vine Street Café the night before Thanksgiving, or over the holiday weekend. Then, let VSC Market help you with your holiday cooking. The market offers prepared turkey breast, cranberry chutney, and gravy, as well as VSC signature soups like heirloom tomato bisque, lentil & turmeric, butternut squash & Milk Pail apples, and black bean & bacon. The shop also has a great variety of hostess gifts, if you’re going to be a guest for the holiday and want to bring along something special. VSC’s popup wine shop has expanded to complement take-out orders. The market is open Thursday to Monday, noon to 9 PM, and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
