Strongpoint Theinert Ranch 2023 Ferry Cruise fundraiser – CANCELED

Enjoy live music, drinks, and bites aboard the 1LT Joe Theinert during the Strongpoint Theinert Ranch 2023 Ferry Cruise fundraiser.

UPDATE: Due to the death of Joe’s father, James “Big Jim” Theinert, this event has been canceled.

It takes place on Saturday, September 16, from 4 to 8 PM aboard the South Ferry vessel named in honor of Islander Joseph Theinert, who died while serving in the US Army in Afghanistan.

The goal is to raise $29,500 to build a 1,200 s/f deck off the new barracks at Strongpoint Theinert Ranch, a veterans retreat created in his memory by family, friends, and generous donors. The barracks building has arrived on the New Mexico property and will house veterans and others taking part at no cost in restorative retreats (read about STR here).

To improve the exterior spaces, STR plans to build a deck to be an open-air communal space lifted away from the dust, scrub, and cactus of the surrounding area.

The deck will provide a protective barrier between the interior and the wild landscape. Made of durable Trex, it will also serve as a multipurpose space for groups to prepare and share meals and do therapeutic physical activities such as yoga and daily stretches. It will be a place to gather for sharing, stargazing, and connecting with each other while enjoying stunning vistas.

Sign up for the ferry cruise while limited tickets remain. You can also contribute to the project as a sponsor. Find details about sponsorships here.
