St. Mary’s Episcopal Church: Blessing of the Animals and BBQ Chicken Dinner

The Rev. Charles McCarron offers blessings for animals at St. Mary's Episcopal Church on Saturday, August 6. A BBQ Chicken Dinner follows that night.

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church invites all to join the annual Blessing of the Animals, and, later the same day, a BBQ Chicken Dinner to raise funds for a new roof.

The events take place Saturday, August 6 at 11 AM and 6 PM, respectively. The Rev. Charles McCarron, rector of St. Mary’s, will provide a special blessing to animals brought to the church in the morning. Later, volunteers will set out BBQ chicken and all the fixings for a family-friendly dinner.

“Inflation has barred us from having what would have been our third annual Lobster Bake,” the church said. “And so we are switching to chicken in order to keep it affordable.”

Tickets for the fundraiser are $40 per person in advance ($45 at the door) and $20 for kids. To reserve yours, contact the church office Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 2 PM at 631-749-0770 or stmarys11964@optonline.net.
