Shelter Island shopkeepers have been busy preparing for the early summer season. After a year-plus of isolation, we could all use something fresh for our wardrobe or home, and you’re sure to find something in one our Island’s terrific shops! Here’s a tour of what’s open (alphabetically) at the un-official start of summer:

This gem of an independent bookstore, Finley’s Fiction features the newest fiction and non-fiction – bestsellers, literary wonders, debut authors, biographies/memories, political non-fiction, as well as beautiful coffee table books. The children’s section has stories for budding new readers and young teen fiction. The store has toys, games, puzzles, and gift options, too. Did you know that the Gardiner’s Bay Country Club Pro Shop is open to the public? Find sports apparel, accessories and equipment for men, women and kids.
