Save the date: the Shelter Island Lions Club will honor Marilynn and Ken Pysher as Citizens of the Year at a dinner on May 26.
“They represent volunteerism at its best by being hard-working, modest, empathetic, and caring citizens,” said Lion Frank Adipietro, M.D. “After many decades of giving, Marilynn and Ken well deserve this important award.”
The Lions named the Pyshers as Citizens of the Year in 2020, but the pandemic precluded hosting a gathering. Richie Surozenski was Citizen of the Year in 2019. You can read more about this longstanding tradition in this Gazette post.
The Citizen of the Year dinner takes place Thursday, May 26 at 6 PM at Gardiner’s Bay Country Club. Tickets are $50, plus a cash bar. They’ll be on sale soon at shelterislandlions.org/upcoming-events/.
