The annual Over the Hill Charity Softball Game will once again raise funds for Shelter Island Little League, while providing fun for fans and bragging rights for players.
The game takes place Saturday, September 3 at noon at Fiske Field. Prospective players age 35+ should email shelterislandlittleleague@gmail.com to register (the player donation is $25).
Look for kids around town (at the IGA and other locations) selling 50/50 raffle tickets — one for $5 or five for $20. You can also pick up raffle tickets at the game.
SALT Waterfront Bar & Grill hosts an after-party with the raffle drawing at the Shipwreck Bar; all are welcome to attend. In addition to SALT, this year’s sponsors include The Flying Goat and Shelter Island SLICE.
The last Over the Hill Softball Game raised over $2,000 for the Little League, defraying costs of uniforms and equipment for the 60+ student-athletes ages 4 to 14 who take part.
The rain date is Sunday, September 4.
