Mashomack Preserve has two family-friendly events planned for the last week in August; Furry Friends and a guided paddle tour of Log Cabin Creek.

About Furry Friends

The Preserve invites children ages 4+ to join “Furry Friends,” a free program that’s part of the new Summer Seedlings series. This hour-long drop-off program takes place Thursday, August 25, from 9 to 10 AM.

“We’ll explore the natural work around us and learn about different animals that call the Preserve home,” Mashomack said in an email blast.

Activities will include crafts, snacks, and exploring Mashomack’s trails.

What to bring:

  • Water bottle
  • Bug spray and sunblock

Log Creek Cabin paddle

The Log Creek Cabin Paddle takes place Saturday, August 27, from 4 to 6 PM. The Preserve invites you to enjoy the beauty of Mashomack from the water and learn about local shellfish.

Staff will provide kayaks, paddles, and life vests for the guided tour.

What to bring:

  • Shoes that can get wet
  • Water bottle
  • Towel
  • Bug spray

The programs are free of charge, but reservations are a must! For questions or reservations, email MashomackPreserve@tnc.org.
