Sylvester Manor Youth Programs 2018 registration is underway and the Little Sprouts and Young Farmers sections are filling up fast. As of May 1, six of 14 sections were full; the rest had five or fewer spots available. For full programs, campers may be added to a wait list.
The week-long programs for children ages 3 to 7 take place on the fields and grounds of Sylvester Manor Educational Farm. Children engage in a variety of activities, the Manor’s website says, such as farming basics, local history, environmental science and sustainability.
They also plant and harvest vegetables, and prepare and cook dishes using the produce they’ve grown. And, they’ll feed and care for livestock. Daily art, music, and yoga activities round out the offerings.
“We envision a farm, a community, and a world where people celebrate food, arts and inventiveness in the everyday, with a spirit of fairness and joy.”
