Suffolk County reported 5,791 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday; four residents died overnight bringing the county death toll to 44.
Of the 601 patients reported hospitalized, up 99 from Sunday, 181 required intensive care unit treatment, up 21. In all, 14,230 tests for the novel coronavirus have been administered countywide.
