Suffolk County reported 19,733 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday morning — this is significantly fewer cases than were reported the day before. No explanation was offered for the change.

On Friday morning, the county reported 20,359 cases.

Reporting by township Thursday to Saturday
Here is how the cases by township reported Saturday look against Thursday’s figures, based on available records. Last week, the County added to its reporting a figure representing rate of cases per thousand residents (the source of population estimate was not indicated):
- Islip — 5,027, up from 4,560 on Thursday (15.13 cases per 1,000 residents, up from 13.73/1k on Thursday)
- Brookhaven — 3,547, up from 3,097 (7.3/1k, up from 6.37/1k)
- Babylon — 3,083, up from 2,854 (13.01/1k, up from 12.13/1k)
- Huntington — 2,598, up from 2,391 (11.49/1k, up from 10.7/1k)
- Smithtown — 991, up from 901, (8.45/1k, up from 7.68/1k)
- Southampton — 294, up from 256 (5.09/1k, up from 4.43/1k)
- Southold — 237, up from 248 (10.68/1k, up from 11.18/1k)
- Riverhead — 200, up from 190 (5.94/1k cases, up from 5.08/1k)
- East Hampton — 87, up from 83 (3.98/1k, up from 3.8/1k)
- Shelter Island* — 5, up from 4 (1.79/1k, up from 1.43/1k)
- Township Not Known — 3,796, up from 3,501
NOTE: There is a lag in reporting and some of those in Township Not Known may eventually be added to each township’s tally. The counts do not include people who are currently living in Suffolk County, but who have their primary address elsewhere.
*The Town of Shelter Island announced last Saturday that the two individuals residing here confirmed to have COVID-19 had died while hospitalized. A third case was added to the list Wednesday that Island officials said was a health care worker who tested positive, but had since recovered. Two new cases were added this week.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 through 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10.
- 43,195 COVID-19 tests have been administered as of April 10
- 43.3 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
- There are presently 3,439 hospital beds and 758 ICU beds in Suffolk County.
- In the last 24 hours, 132 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital
