South Ferry will host a name-changing ceremony of the ferryboat Southside to Capt. Nick Morehead in honor of a beloved South Ferry Captain.
“Nick was our Chief of Operations, a loyal colleague, a friend of Shelter Island, a member of the Clark family, and simply a good person who finished his long battle with cancer on May 10, 2021,” said Cliff Clark, Morehead’s father-in-law, and South Ferry president.
He invited all to attend the ceremony on Sunday, July 30, from 2 to 3:30 PM.
A brief ceremony and a blessing of the vessel by Father Peter DeSanctis and Minister John Moore will be followed by refreshments and a short first cruise aboard the “Capt. Nick.”
