Starting Monday, May 4 you can register a child for Shelter Island Town summer programs — which may go forward depending on when restrictions relating to the novel coronavirus are lifted. The Town is not collecting payment at this time.

Summer Sous Chefs
Join Shelter Island Recreation to create edible summer favorites. Did you know that kids who help prepare their own food (even veggies!) are more likely to actually eat them? Shelter Island UFSD Leap into Learning
NOTE: Pending 2020/21 budget approval. Shelter Island Union Free School District is pleased to once again offer a summer school program for students entering grades K to 8. The program will run from Monday to Thursday, July 6 to 30, 9 to 11AM at the Shelter Island School. All enrolled students will receive instruction for 60 minutes in English Language Arts, and 45 minutes in Mathematics. This program is designed to provide academic support to struggling students, as well as to enhance and enrich students of all ability levels. Free for Shelter Island full-time resident children, the cost is $150 per non-resident student.

Colonial Multi-Sports
Colonial Sports presents two weeks of multi-sports. Participants will receive instruction in each sport and experience the sport in a realistic game situation. All activities will take place in an atmosphere which promotes good sportsmanship, teamwork and most of all fun! Sign up for one week or both! *Please pack a bagged lunch.

First Kicks
This innovative program, created by childcare specialists, introduces children to the very basic skills of soccer in a fun, progressive and caring manner. First Kicks activities will include running, turning, stopping, jumping, kicking, throwing and catching. Each day we will aim to help improve balance, agility, coordination, social skills and cognitive ability. Your child’s confidence and enthusiasm for the game will grow during our fun soccer challenges! Parental involvement is welcomed!

Challenger Soccer
This is Challenger’s most popular program and will feature individual skill development, core techniques, one on one skills, freestyle soccer, small sided games and our Camp World Cup. This program is suitable for all skill levels and participants will be separated by age. Participants will also spend time learning about Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Sportsmanship & Leadership.
