The Town of Shelter Island is offering a Zoom workshop on how to cook venison, with meat available for free from the Town.
The program, presented by the Town Deer & Tick Committee, takes place Wednesday, March 31 at 7 PM via Zoom. Meantime, you can help yourself to frozen venison available at a self-service freezer at the Recycling Center. Hunters participating in the Town hunt donate the meat. Their work keeps the deer herd in check.
A hunter/chef will show participants how to cook venison with a simple to prepare recipe. To register (and get a copy of the recipe in advance), contact committee member Julia Weisenberg at jwesienberg@shelterislandtown.us.
