Attend the program session in person on Thursday, June 22, at 5:30 PM at the Shelter Island Public Library. Alternatively, you can join via Zoom. To do so, register using the library’s online calendar.

Great Decisions: China and the US

“For the past ten years, the United States and China have been locked in a competition for who has the greatest global influence,” the FPA says about this Great Decisions topic.

“One major point of contention is the status of Taiwanese sovereignty, which has become even more relevant recently with the possibility that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine may prompt China to take similar action regarding Taiwan.”

So, how will the US respond to China’s growing global presence? The group will explore this and other questions during what promises to be a wide-ranging conversation.

The library has a copy of the FPA Great Decisions briefing book with materials selected for each topic, plus links to additional suggested reading. You can also find background materials and resources on the topic page at the Great Decisions website.
