Finley’s Fiction set to open

Finley’s Fiction opens later this week at its new Heights location. Business owner and lifelong avid reader, Finley Oakley Shaw was stocking shelves and getting ready for sales on Tuesday now that curbside retail will be allowed in the Long Island region.

Though her location is new, the business is entering its third year on Shelter Island. The new location is 8 Grand Avenue, at the corner of Chase Avenue. Call for hours, 631-749-7616.

The shop has more than just books for all ages. Stop by for cards, puzzles, journals, games, and Jellycat stuffed animals. For any of the small batch Homesick New York or New York City candles purchased, Finley’s will make a donation to the Shelter Island Action Alliance.

Finley’s picks

Every book in the store is hand picked and carefully chosen by Finley, along with her husband, Patrick and oldest son, Malcolm. You will see the newest fiction and non-fiction from bestsellers, literary wonders, debut authors, biographies/memories, political non-fiction, as well as beautiful coffee table books.

The children’s book section features picture books as well as stories for budding new readers and young teen fiction. Special order, book club selection, and free gift wrapping are available.
