Shelter Islanders who want to join religious celebrations on Easter Sunday have options for virtual services hosted by the Island’s three churches.
Our Lady of the Isle
Our Lady of the Isle Roman Catholic Church is part of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, which has suspended all weekday and weekend masses, religious education and other church programs through Friday, May 1.
At Our Lady of the Isle, the Rev. Peter DeSanctis will perform Easter mass at 9:30AM and for the first time, parishioners can watch live on Facebook using a computer or mobile device.
The church encourages members of the congregation to “tag us with a photo of your and your family in your Easter finery.”

“Pastor Bob and our team will have our (new) usual Sunday service on our website and Facebook page for us to celebrate Easter together/apart,” the church said.
