Second quarter grades are in and parent/teacher conferences are coming up. Shelter Island Rec can look after kids in grades Pre-K to 4. An aide will pick them up at the 11 a.m. dismissal. They'll enjoy supervised play until you pick them up at 2.
Shelter Island's school age children have two chances to shine in student art exhibits this winter. One, already underway, is at Guild Hall in East Hampton. The other, at Parrish Art Museum, opens in March.
Shelter Island may have only a couple of hundred students, but you can be sure they'll go all out, together with faculty and staff, to celebrate school pride during School Spirit Week.
The PTSA seeks Holiday Boutique donations, especially gift items for dads, grandpas, uncles and brothers. If you have new or gently used items suitable for holiday giving, drop them off in the school lobby through Monday, December 16.
