Shelter Island Country Club is devoting Saturday, October 17 to a nine-hole tournament to benefit former South Ferry captain Alex Cannon who was seriously injured last fall. The rain date is Sunday, October 18. Non-players can join raffles or make donations.

Bill Gordh Union Chapel Children's Service
Storyteller, songwriter and banjoist Bill Gordh returns to Union Chapel in the Grove this weekend for the annual Children's Service. This is a favorite for the young children who participate, for their parents and grandparents, and for the young in spirit. The interdenominational service takes place outdoors on Sunday, June 27 at 10:30 AM.

The Shelter Island Historical Society is offering prizes to those who can answer 20 questions on a Cemetery Scavenger Hunt, with special prizes for the top three point-getters. It takes place now through November 1 in the cemetery behind St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
