Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone officially declared a state of emergency this afternoon. The number of confirmed COVID-19 grew to 20, from six a day earlier, officials say.

East End coronavirus school closings include Sag Harbor and Greenport public schools, and the private Hayground School. Administrators of other East End districts announced they are monitoring the situation. Some have limited before/after school activities. Shelter Island School hosts an informational meeting Thursday that will also be broadcast for those who choose not to attend in person.
