Children in grades 2 through 6 are welcome to join free basketball clinics on Saturdays in November and December sponsored by the Shelter Island Recreation Department.
Coach Peter Miedema promises a fun, low-pressure environment during weekly sessions on Saturdays from 10 to 11:30 AM in the Shelter Island School gym. Dates are November 12 and 19, and December 3, 10, and 17.
Each week students will learn a new skill, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and the rules of the game. Students will take part in fun basketball activities and exciting instructional scrimmaging.
