Shelter Island History Center

This summer Brooklyn Acting Lab will be offering an immersive and collaborative, two-week summer theater program for kids ages 6 to 12 at the Shelter Island History Center. Sylvester Manor Summer Youth Programs

Spots are filling up quickly, but there is still time to register your child into one of Sylvester Manor’s summer programs. Little Sprouts, Young Farmers, Forest Theatre, and STEM @ Sylvester Manor, give kids ages 3 to 12 the opportunities to experience all the fun that Sylvester Manor has to offer. There’s even an extended day option for Young Farmers. For details visit www.sylvestermanor.org/summeryouthprograms.

And Sylvester Manor Operations Director Tracy McCarthy says that even if the program you’re applying to is booked, you should join the waitlist. Many families will hold a spot until the final payment deadline in May, just to keep options open. Once the deadline passes, spaces usually open up and are offered to those on the waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sylvester Manor is also looking to add a few more counselors. If you know a high school or college students, or recent college grads interested in working with kids this summer, encourage them to email youthprograms@sylvestermanor.org. The nonprofit offers competitive pay for a Monday to Friday mornings-only workweek, in a fun outdoor environment. They’ll gain loads of experience!
