The Suffolk County Board of Elections has issued updated election results after counting absentee and other ballots, says Heather Reylek, Shelter Island Democratic Committee chair.
The results — still unofficial — confirm the Election Day outcome: Gerry Siller for Superintendent, and Mike Bebon and Jim Colligan for Town Council.
“Both the Democratic and Republican Committees had a representative present and it went smoothly,” Reylek said in an email.
“There were 229 absentee ballots received, 26 affidavits, one unscanned vote which was recorded and one overvote (someone voted for three instead of two),” she said.
