The PTSA of Shelter Island is hosting an online Book Fair through November 1.
As usual, it’s run by Scholastic, which has long offered a remote portal to augment the student shopping experience that usually takes place in the main lobby during a school day.
Due to the pandemic, there will be no in-school shopping; instead, the online experience must be the point of entry for all.
“Kids love making their wish lists, getting to purchase a brand new book or two, maybe getting a sequined journal or a ridiculously oversized pencil,” said the PSTA’s book fair coordinator, Vicki Weslek. “We all love those, right?”
Anyone can participate now through November 1 by shopping exclusives directly from the Shelter Island School interactive booklist.

To participate, you can:
- Shop the PTSA virtual book fair, providing basic registration information — this option earns the school up to 25 percent in rewards on each purchase
- Shop the Scholastic website without registering
Funds earned through registered purchases help provide books for teachers and children whose families are in need of assistance.
