Cellist Yi Qun Xu performs a free concert as part of the Perlman Music Program’s ongoing Stires-Stark Alumni Recital series. Pianist Yoon Lee will accompany Yi Qun Xu at the virtual recital.

About the artist
Cellist Yi Qun Xu has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician across the United States. A native of China, she says she was fascinated by the cello as a child. She studied at China’s Central Conservatory of Music, where she won multiple top prizes in Chinese national cello competitions.
After moving to to the United States, she performed at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and Marlboro Music Festival, and has collaborated with Itzhak Perlman and members of the Cleveland, Juilliard, and Tokyo Quartets.
Yi Qun Xu, a teacher and director, has been an active participant of Perlman Music Program and serves as a Starr Doctoral Fellow at The Juilliard School in New York City.
