Mashomack Preserve is accepting registrations for its Summer Ecology and DNA Lab Experience 2023, a free program open to high school students.

During this extraordinary opportunity at Mashomack and the Shelter Island School, participants will do real science while having fun. Teens will explore the outdoors, practicing sampling and identification skills, then learn state-of-the-art DNA techniques in the lab.

This research will contribute to the Citizen DNA Barcode Network database. No experience is needed; guidance and support are provided, including a Spanish-speaking instructor.

It takes place from July 24 to August 4. To learn more and register, contact Cindy Belt at cbelt@tnc.org.
