Shelter Island’s own Liam Adipietro pitched one inning of relief for the Bucks on Tuesday at Fiske Field, his first game with our hometown team in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League.

His scoreless eighth inning against the North Fork Ospreys helped the Bucks come back from an 8-4 deficit to earn a 10-10 tie. Adipietro, now a rising junior at Villanova,  attended Shelter Island School until eighth grade, when he began to commute to St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, where he was captain of the varsity baseball team.

“It’s a real honor,” Adipietro told the Gazette after the game. “I’ve always wanted to play for the Bucks since I was a young kid.”

Find the Bucks’ schedule on the HCBL website, and come on out to cheer them on!
