The April 16 deadline to apply for Shelter Island Educational Foundation (SIEF) spring grants is approaching.
SIEF accepts grant requests twice a year from Shelter Island students, teachers, and institutions for educational experiences beyond those available through the school curriculum and budget.
For example, in 2022, SIEF grants offset costs for:
- 16 students for an immersion program in Spain
- Two students competing in a soccer tournament in Sweden
- An adventure camp experience in Pennsylvania
- Camp Quinipet day and sleep-away experiences
- Hampton’s Baseball Camp tuitions
- Early Childhood Learning Center summer programs
- Moussa Drame Tennis Academy programs
- Shelter Island Recreation Department summer programs
