PSEG prepares

“As all of us continue to face the unique challenges posed by COVID-19, PSEG Long Island remains committed to providing safe, reliable electric service and a strong storm response,” PSEG said in a statement Sunday evening.

“Our personnel are ready to respond, but our procedures have been adapted based on new health best practices,” the statement said. “High winds may delay some work in order to keep our crews safe. We expect that the current situation will limit the amount of support we can receive from other utilities. Power restoration could take slightly longer than usual and we thank you for your patience.”

The utility said that hospitals and other critical facilities will be given precedence when restoring power.

Safety first

PSEG encourages everyone to put safety first. Here’s the rest of the PSEG message:

“The health and safety of our customers and employees is our highest priority.
