Sylvester Manor: ‘Soil and Spirit’ reading and talk with author Scott Chaskey

Celebrate the publication of “Soil and Spirit” in a reading by and conversation with author Scott Chaskey, a farmer and founding board member of Sylvester Manor.

During decades spent working in fields, Chaskey has been shaped by daily attention to the earth. He has combined a longstanding commitment to food sovereignty and organic farming with a belief that humble attention to microbial life and the diversity of species provides invaluable lessons for building healthy human communities.

A pioneer of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) movement, Chaskey has cultivated more than 60 crops for the Peconic Land Trust at Quail Hill Farm in Amagansett, one of the country’s earliest CSAs.

All are welcome to attend this free program at Sylvester Manor Windmill Field on Saturday, July 22, at 11 AM.
