Suffolk County: 29,826 confirmed COVID-19 cases

Suffolk County reported 29,826 confirmed COVID-19 cases Thursday. The number of confirmed cases on Shelter Island remained at seven, but local officials say they know of eight cases.

Most recent data from Suffolk County show that 888 people have died of complications of novel coronavirus. As of Tuesday, 1,434 patients were hospitalized, including 501 requiring treatment in an intensive care unit. We will update this post when new figures are released.

Note: The cases reported under Township Unknown may include patients who provided Post Office boxes as their addresses (which do not fit the county’s emergency response address format) or those who are currently staying in Suffolk County, but have their primary residence elsewhere.

*On Shelter Island, local officials say they know of eight cases including two patients who died, one who recovered and five active cases.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 through 2:30 p.m. on April 21, 2020

  • 40.8 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
