Purchase tickets for ‘A Hill of Beans’

Tickets are on sale now for the locally produced musical, “A Hill of Beans: A 1950s Shelter Island Story.” Proceeds benefit the Shelter Island Historical Society.

Written by Islanders Lisa Shaw and Tom Hashagen, and directed by Shaw, it tells the story of a lima bean cooperative formed here in 1949 by a group of local farmers and one savvy New York barrister. With original music by Shaw and Hashagen, “A Hill of Beans” is about cooperation, innovation, and determination, with some love and drama mixed in.

Performances are scheduled at the Shelter Island History Center at 5:30 PM on Friday, July 23, Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25. The cost per ticket is $40. Rain dates are July 30 to August 1. Follow this link to purchase yours.
