Perlman Music Program summer gala reimagined

Perlman Music Program has issued a Save the Date for a Virtual Summer Gala on Friday, July 24, at 5 PM. PMP is reimagining its annual summer fundraiser as a festive online experience.

As usual, PMP will celebrate students, highlight alumni, and everyone will share a birthday toast to Maestro Itzhak Perlman. PMP says a few surprises are in store as well. The goal is to re-create the joy felt on Shelter Island, but with a larger audience than ever.

Details coming soon; keep on eye on the PMP website gala page for more information.

Beautiful music all summer long

Back in June, PMP announced its difficult decision to not gather on Shelter Island this summer. Instead, all summer activities will be virtual including a remote Summer Music School. Despite COVID-19, PMP is committed to its mission to nurture young artists, create community, and connect through music.

PMP plans for beautiful music all summer long, with an adapted online program through August 10. Students, faculty, and fellows will come together virtually for lessons and studio classes, technology tutorials, discussion groups, physical wellness sessions, collaborative performance projects, and social hangouts.

PMP has been posting virtual performances throughout the pandemic shutdown. Find links to these recitals, and look for new postings, on the PMP-from-home page.
