Perlman Music Program Family Concert and instrument petting zoo

The Perlman Music Program hosts its annual Family Concert on Sunday, July 9 at 11:30 AM. The aim is to inspire children of all ages and their families with a fun introduction to the world of classical music.

Students in PMP’s prestigious Summer Music School will perform music and skits. And there will be an instrument petting zoo where kids can try playing the violin, viola, and cello for the first time.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Pop-up instrument petting zoo

If you can’t make it on Sunday, PMP will have a pop-up petting zoo at the weekly Havens Farmers Market at the Shelter Island History Center on Saturday, July 8, from 10 AM to noon (thanks to House of Strings, which is providing the instruments).

As usual, PMP students will present two free Works-in-Progress concerts this weekend on Friday, July 7, and Saturday, July 8, beginning at 7:30 PM.

These performances of repertoire the campers are studying continue most Fridays and Saturdays through August 12. Check the PMP events calendar for details.
