Thomas Tuthill Young Jr. of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at Portside at the Grande Dunes, a senior living facility in Myrtle Beach. He was 93.
He was born February 12, 1927, in Shelter Island, son of Thomas Tuthill Young Sr. and Marguerite Griffing Young.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his beloved wife, Joan Young (née Wallace); and son-in-law Paul Melcer.
He is survived by his four children, Trish Avona and her husband Bob McCallister of Murrells Inlet, SC; Missie Melcer of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Thomas J. Young and his fiancée, Sue Klenawicus of Shelter Island, and William F. Young of Camden, NC. Other survivors include eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Thomas enjoyed many things in life such as fishing, clamming, boating, water skiing, traveling, and being around his friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
